This Cranberry Zombie Mocktail Is Perfect for Little Monsters

Published at: 2025-08-01

If tart, tropical beverages are your thing, this is the perfect drink for you. A homemade cranberry syrup cuts the sweetness—and makes it look like Dracula just took a sip—in this icy blend of orange, pineapple, and lime juices. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this spooky mocktail as-is, but you can also add some alcohol to make it a Hard Zombie cocktail.

Tips for Making the Frozen Halloween Mocktail

Keep these helpful tips in mind when blending up the Cranberry Zombie beverage at home.

The homemade cranberry sauce will thicken to the blood-red drizzling consistency once cooled. Allow at least 15 minutes for it to cool in the fridge. You can also make this up to one week in advance, keeping it chilled in an airtight container.

Use a high-powered blender and blend for at least 30 seconds to get the frozen beverage to the perfect smooth consistency.

If you want a boozy version, we recommend adding some white rum to the blender with the juice.

Directions

Cook Cranberries

In a small saucecan combine cranberries, water, and sugar. Bring to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered , for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Strain and Cool

Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a glass measuring cup, pressing cranberries with back of a spoon to extract liquid. Discard cranberry solids. Cool at room temperature 5 minutes; cover and refrigerate until syrup is cool, about 20 minutes. (Mixture will thicken slightly upon cooling.)

Blend

In a blender container combine ice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and lime juice. Cover and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Assemble and Serve

Pour 1 tablespoon of the cranberry syrup into each of four 8- to 10-ounce glasses. Slowly pour juice mixture over cranberry syrup. Using a small spoon, drizzle cranberry syrup (using about 1 tablespoon per drink) around inner edges and outer edge of each glass to create a drip effect. Serve immediately.
